Efficiency is always the motto for any warehouse crew to ensure products are ordered, stocked, and shipped on time to customers. The United Natural Foods Incorporated (UNFI) Volunteers used that work ethic this past Tuesday to paint Katie’s home; a senior living in Santiago Estates Mobile home Park in Moreno Valley. The UNFI office and warehouse is located in Moreno Valley making it more special for the volunteers to be able to give back to a resident living in their community.
The group of 17 from the 1st and 2nd shifts arrived on time and ready to work. Dolce, the organizer of the group for the volunteer day brought cold water and natural snacks. Of course she did! Once orientation was done, the volunteers broke into their groups and within minutes it was obvious that these volunteers were efficient human machines. They accepted any task asked of them and did it without getting much paint on themselves. Except for a few, but we won’t mention names to protect them from any ribbing at work.
Jose let it slip that he had previously painted for 5 years and immediately was asked to paint the high trim at the front of the home. Dean took care of the blue tape and everyone commented how well it was done. Throughout the morning project, they mingled, joked and munched on their company’s natural snacks. Before we knew it, the home was finished in 3 ½ hours not counting orientation or loading the truck. That is great project time. Efficiency at its best! Katie was very pleased with her newly painted home and thanked everyone while they were painting and during the group picture.
UNFI you are all Naturals! Thank you!
