Every year on December 5th, the United Nations recognizes International Volunteer Day. As mandated by the U.N., the day serves “as a unique chance for volunteers and organizations to celebrate their efforts, to share their values, and to promote their work among their communities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), United Nations agencies, government authorities and the private sector.”
Habitat for Humanity Riverside celebrates our volunteers’ commitment and contributions to our mission. Volunteers are the backbone of this organization. They empower homeowners, revitalize local communities, and build bridges so that families have the opportunity to attain safe and affordable living.
In celebration of this day, Habitat for Humanity Riverside would like to recognize Darrell Wampler as the volunteer spotlight. Darrell has been a regular volunteer on our “A Brush With Kindness” projects, and has played a tremendous role in serving so many families within the Greater Riverside community. He served in the Armed Forces for our country, and he continues to give back to this day.
