The Martinez family recently received the keys to their Habitat home and for the first time got to explore their newly finished home. Located in the City of Jurupa Valley, which has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a backyard with fruit trees. Justin, father and husband, works as a security guard while Aneesa, mother and wife, takes care of their two little girls (ages 4 and 2) full time.
This family of four has been renting and living in one bedroom for 40% of their monthly income. They are one of three families that rent the house and share common areas such as the living room, kitchen, and have to schedule to follow for the laundry room. The remainder of the house is off limits.
Justin and Aneesa have completed 500 hours Sweat Equity. They volunteered with our mobile home repair program Helping Hands, attended homeownership workshops, worked in our ReStore and were a part of our large 4/28 volunteer day at Veterans Memorial Park. Justin and Aneesa continue to volunteer with Habitat even though they have completed their Sweat Equity. Habitat Riverside is excited to welcome them as a Habitat family in the City of Jurupa Valley.
