On Saturday, November 22nd, another home was painted at the King Arthur Mobile Home Park! Homeowners Maria and Jesus, along with their children lived in a space which was looking a bit weathered. It was clear that a fresh paint job was due, but the possibility of painting their home was not in their budget. However, with the help of the UCR Habitat Campus Chapter, we were able to finish the home in no time.
After the routine safety overview, the volunteers stepped up knowing exactly what to do; including setting up tarps, distributing paintbrushes, rollers, and paint quickly and efficiently! With no fear, volunteers climbed ladders and replaced the homes’ trim with a beautiful, bold, brown color. Around the house, volunteer after volunteer dispersed and replaced the weathered walls with a subtle, clean, light brown paint color. After a few hours of painting, what stood before Maria and Jesus was a home that was almost unrecognizable!
The hard work that the UCR Habitat Campus Chapter put into the home clearly showed that they knew what they were doing. These volunteers are the perfect example of how dedicated and hardworking volunteers with A Brush with Kindness have always been! On behalf of Habitat for Humanity Riverside, Maria, and Jesus, we would like to thank the Habitat for Humanity Chapter at UCR! We look forward to your next volunteer date!
