Cheers to the March ARB 452 AMW Rising Six group volunteers that came out last Saturday to help Laura who lives in Santiago Estates mobile home park in Moreno Valley.  Laura is disabled and living on a low, very fixed income and cannot afford to have her home painted. A quick look at her home as you drive by didn’t look too bad, but upon closer inspection revealed the worn, thinning, and faded paint that was not applied properly when last painted. The park management team had requested that she get the paint job upgraded to conform to park standards. That’s where Habitat and the volunteers from March ARB came in.

The 10 volunteers got helping hands from two Habitat Homeowners, Monique and Salina, who are working to complete their sweat equity.  Thankfully the weather cooperated for the first time in several months and the pleasant morning turned into a sunny Saturday.  The group was totally focused and moved around the home as if they were on a mission. Hmmm, wonder where they learned that behavior?

Everyone took control of their assigned walls finishing them in great time and quickly moved onto the trim work. The home was completed in no time thanks to Ana who made sure the volunteers were hydrated and energized with goodies while painting. Everyone was impressed with the change they made for Laura.

Thanks for giving up your Saturday morning, AMW volunteers and Habitat homeowners, you all showed it was worth the sacrifice.
