On Tuesday afternoon Habitat for Humanity Riverside along with six future Roberts Way Habitat Families met for a wonderful family get-together. After sharing dinner and socializing amongst each other Kathy the Executive Director began the evening informing the families of the project’s progress and explaining to them what to expect in the days to come.
The families also received information on how to fulfill their Sweat Equity. Most of the families knew each other from painting on A Brush With Kindness volunteer days. Others knew each other from working off their Sweat Equity at the ReStore.
The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement and the families could not wait to begin choosing the address that they will soon be calling home. Also, members of the HFHR Board were present and happy to see so many families working together.
When all was said and done and everyone had chosen their address there were smiles and laughter all around the room. It was a great experience for all, including Joel Jr and Angelica who were there in representation of their parents who were unable to attend. Afterwards each family took pictures and drove home hopeful that within a few months they would be owners of a new beautiful home.
