This windy Friday we were joined by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Correctional Deputy (CD) Academy and Partners Advantage Insurance Services who sent volunteers to assist on 2 homes at Jurupa Hills Mobile Park in Riverside County.

This has been the 3^rd class of deputies we have had the pleasure of working with on one of our A Brush with Kindness program sites. Correctional Corporal Aceves stated, “I remind my class that the point of being deputies is community service, and so why shouldn’t we do a community service event?” Correctional Corporal Aceves, being affiliated with the March Air Reserves Base, heard of and participated in A Brush with Kindness prior to the department’s involvement. After the experience, he wanted to get his team at the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department encompassed in the program. The Habitat team is excited to hear that word of our programs are spreading and that our volunteers recommend that others get involved.
